Research Center
RESEARCH CENTER
The Entomo AgroIndustrial Research Center, a 400 m2 facility with an investment of €500,000, is a very flexible structure that will allow us to offer a wide variety of services to our clients, serve as a demonstration plant, as well as experiment with new technologies that optimize our processes and favor the creation of new products. With the following objectives:
PRODUCTION OF BLACK SOLDIER FLIES
A continuous production of the diptera Hermetia illucens starts, with a subpopulation morphogenetically characterized.
WASTE VALIDATION
We have the capacity to validate a wide variety of by-products and waste from industry, to quantify their suitability in the transformation processes of a factory.
DEMONSTRATION FUNCTION
It will be the first plant in Europe of its kind, showing the technology to government authorities who need to understand or participate in this new type of industry, as well as to our partners and customers.
CONDUCTING RESEARCH
We find ourselves participating in an amazing context: the creation of a new industry. From Entomo AgroIndustrial we encourage and support the processes of R&D, through strong collaborations with strategic partners, leadership and participation in innovative projects, or the promotion of our auxiliary industry.
BREEDING AREA
Under the most stable and favourable conditions, we obtain the eggs that we will use in the system.
LABORATORY
Our laboratory is prepared to carry out preparations and adaptations of substrates, microbiology tests, morphogenetic characterisation, quality control, processes of obtaining various products, with a dozen jobs for our researchers.
NURSERY AREA
We monitor and optimize the processes of emergence of neonatal larvae, and their development during the first days.
COLONY AREA
The entire life span of the larval stage takes place in this room, and allows us to obtain the individuals best suited to modulate our soldier fly population.
TRIALS AREA
Designed to configure a wide variety of abiotic conditions, this room allows the recovery of 2.5 tons of by-products or waste per day, and allows us to obtain performance metrics in all scenarios we propose.
